This year's FBLA Nationals Middle School High School National Leadership Conference, held in San Antonio, Texas, had a couple of winning students from Moodle Middle School!
Deeptha: Won 1st place in Website Design and received a cash prize of $300!
Dheepthaa Devarajan Lakshman is a 7th grader at George H. Moody Middle School in Henrico County. She competed in FBLA's Exploring Website Design event, designing a website for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The project showcases VMFA's collection, exhibitions, and visitor information through an interactive, responsive website built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It features a custom AI chatbot, dynamic hours that update automatically, exhibition filtering, and a curated collection showcase. Dheepthaa placed first at the Virginia state competition and went on to win first place at FBLA Nationals.
Maneesh: Won a Top 10 award in Marketing Strategies!
Maneesh Marikkannan is a rising 9th-grade student who completed Moody Middle School. He competed in the Marketing Strategies event by designing an innovative counselor app aimed at improving communication and accessibility between students and school counselors. The app is designed to streamline counselors' administrative tasks, allowing them to spend more meaningful time supporting students. For this project, Maneesh earned second place at the Virginia FBLA State Leadership Conference and placed in the Top 10 at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in his category!
The local chapter also won a Gold Chapter award and Ashwath Balaji, Deep Run High School, won third place in one of the events. Congratulations to all our FBLA students who attended this year's conference!
