State Course Title: Pharmacy Technician I, Pharmacy Technician II.
The Pharmacy Technician program provides students with the skills needed to assist pharmacists in the delivery of health care services to clients in a variety of settings. Students will also receive instruction that will enable them to sit for state and national certification exams.
Students will learn information about related careers; communication methods in the pharmacy setting; safety procedures; skills to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication; maintenance of medication inventory and inventory control systems; and information about the administration and management of pharmacy practice.

General Pharmacology HLT 250: Emphasizes general pharmacology for the health-related professions, covering
general principles of drug actions/reactions, major drug classes, a specific agent within each class, and
routine mathematical calculations needed to determine desired dosages. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: HLT 143.
Medical Terminology I HLT 143: Provides an understanding of medical abbreviations and terms. Includes the study of prefixes,
suffixes, word stems, and technical terms with emphasis on proper spelling, pronunciation, and
usage. Emphasizes more complex skills and techniques in understanding medical terminology.
