Healthcare Management professionals are responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the information systems that support clinical and administrative functions in hospitals, clinics and other health care organizations. They also oversee the security, privacy and compliance of health data and ensure that the systems meet the needs and expectations of patients, providers and regulators.

Healthcare Management has a direct impact on the health outcomes and satisfaction of millions of people by ensuring that the information systems are reliable, accurate and user-friendly.

Healthcare Management professionals help streamline work flows, reduce errors and enhance communication and collaboration among health care professionals. They also help use the power of data analytics, artificial intelligence and telemedicine to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Healthcare Management professionals are at the forefront of innovation and transformation in the health care industry.

The course:

Healthcare Management is a one-year course designed for business students who want to be highly trained medical office workers or specialize in other fields in a medical environment. Students develop skills that prepare them for employment in doctors’ offices, nursing home offices, medical clinics, insurance firms and hospital records departments. During the second semester, advanced students may spend time in a medical office with the approval of the teacher, either shadowing for experience or co-op, with pay. Students may receive dual-enrollment college credit.

  • Workplace-Readiness

Healthcare Management is a dual-credit course. Credits are earned toward completing a Bachelor of Science degree in health science with a concentration in health care administration. The courses offered:
