State Course Title: Home Health Aide
The student will explore the practices and principles in the health and medical field while developing basic skills common to several health and medical careers while focusing primarily on the needs of the senior population in the care of the individual over the lifespan
This course will introduce the student to the profession of Home Health Aide in conjunction with Mental Health Assisting, to create the course for Senior Home and Mental Health Assistants.
Students will gain an understanding of the basic skills and knowledge needed to enter an advanced health and medical sciences program or private home or health care setting.
The student will be taught in a clinical long-term setting under the instruction of a nurse.
The student will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills and explore interests related to high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
The student will take this course in conjunction with mental health assisting, and upon completion of both classes, will be eligible to take the certification examination test for Mental Health Assisting.
